I stayed at this hotel about 9 months ago. I did not like the treatment of the guest hospitality that it extended. It is a quaint property... Very quiet and stately elegant. BUt I enjoy the way I was treated at the front desk. I have not been back since.

Nice pics! I've somehow completely missed the fact that Ritz-Carlton is now in the Marriott family.

Glad to see Ritz-Carlton moving into Cairo, my home town.

Yes. I have stayed in that property in July 2007. It's extremely an elegant property.

Not sure that I understand how Marriott can afford to give away WiFi at their budget brands, but not at their higher-priced JW Marriott, Marriott, and Renaissance :) Actually, I can. Marriott's lower-end competitors are giving away WiFi, but their high-end competitors (Shearton, W, Hyatt, Hilton) are all clutching hard to this revenue stream. Of course, smart frequent travelers are moving over to cellular modems. The $50/month fee pays for itself after 5 hotel nights.

Hi Chris,

As Director of Online Marketing at Joie de Vivre Hotels, I'm enjoying your insights. We are slowly building an online community on our website...http://jdv.leveragesoftware.com/Default.aspx
We've started by structuring group discussions on local restaurants and attractions and are taking a poll on what our loyalty club customers would like in their experiences. You've got me thinking that we should ask business travelers about their needs/desires. I'd also like to set up a space for our guests to write reviews of their hotel experiences.

Have you seen wikitravel.org?
